Everton and their fans have had lots to digest after watching the World Cup so far.

David Moyes will soon link back up with his players for pre-season ahead of an ambitious campaign for the Toffees.

Though the World Cup has been a great distraction for Blues fans, the club has been hard at work with signings.

Tyrique George has now followed Hayden Hackney and Merlin Rohl in making permanent moves to Hill Dickinson, with the trio all ready for a Finch Farm return very soon.

The club are aiming to have as much business done before the start of the season, which is now only around the corner.

More changes are expected at Everton this summer, as the internal figures at the club will have been keeping a close eye on what's been happening in North America so far at the World Cup.

What Everton have learned about their own World Cup stars

Jordan Pickford, Nathan Patterson, Idrissa Gana Gueye and Iliman Ndiaye have all had mixed fortunes at the World Cup this summer.

Perhaps Patterson had the most difficult tournament, as Scotland were dumped out of the competition after failing to reach the knockout stages.

The right-back started two of the three games for the Tartan Army, and didn't receive nice words from the local media for his performances.

Idrissa Gana Gueye has officially left Everton following the expiration of his deal, though the player is set for talks to renew his contract soon.

He and Ndiaye reached the Round of 32, but were unable to help their nation past Belgium, suffering a dramatic defeat to Belgium.

Both played well in moments across the four games, particularly Ndaiye, but ultimately, their best wasn't good enough.

Pickford has had a great tournament despite starting off a little shaky in England's 4-2 win over Croatia.

The shot-stopper had his best performance to date in the Three Lions' 3-2 victory over Mexico at the Estadio Azteca, pulling off several eye-catching saves that caught the attention of media and pundits.

He's clearly ready for another season as Everton's number one.

However, it's not just their own players that Everton will be looking at this World Cup.

What Everton have learnt about transfer targets

Everton have been linked with PSV's Esmir Bajraktarevic, who had a poor World Cup campaign with Bosnia and Herzegovina

The same cannot be said about Christ Inao Oulai, who has attracted the Toffees as well as plenty of other top European sides after impressing with Ivory Coast

The midfielder was tenacious in each game, and looked like a player wise beyond his years, as well as someone who is clearly Premier League ready.

Everton have an interest in Tottenham's Djed Spence, a divisive character for England.

However, when given a chance by Thomas Tuchel, the versatile full-back has shown exactly why Moyes is after him with gutsy defensive work.
