One Everton academy talent in particular, Nsangou, has done all he can ahead of Wednesday to put himself in Moyes' matchday squad thinking.
What did Jonathan Nsangou do for Everton's U18s on Saturday?
Despite only being 16 years old, Nsangou is already showing he's well ahead of schedule when it comes to his development as a player.
The versatile forward is an England youth international, and has already turned out for Everton's Under-21s a couple of times.
He's most often seen turning out for the Toffees' Under-18s side, and has netted 13 goals in 27 career games at this level.
Two of those came in Everton U18s' 4-0 win over Wolves on Saturday, and both were absolute pearlers from range.
In footage shown via The Talent Hunter on Instagram, Nsangou's first strike sees him hit a curling left-footed effort from 20 yards into the far top corner.
Again with his left foot at around 20 yards, his second is a brilliant low drive into the far bottom corner whilst moving away from goal.
Nsangou is yet to make his Everton first-team debut, but performances and goals like this suggests that should change soon.
But just how well has Nsangou started the 2026-27 season, and why does it deserve a place in Everton's Carabao Cup squad at the very least?
Nsangou is in red-hot form for Everton's U18s this season
Capable of playing both on the right wing and as a centre-forward, Nsangou has numerous pathways to playing time.
So far in 2026-27, he's turned out three times for Everton's U18 side, with two of those coming as a centre-forward and the other on the right flank.
He's netted four goals from those three games, and all of them have been scored whilst he's been leading the Toffees' line.
With Everton lacking striker depth behind Thierno Barry, and the Frenchman possibly in need of a rest, Nsangou stepping up makes a lot of sense.
He's clearly a youngster mature beyond his years, and his form in the academy deserves to be recognised at senior level.
So, it's definitely worth keeping an eye out for Nsangou's name when Moyes picks his team for Everton's Carabao Cup third-round tie with Wolves.
