Why Thierno Barry and other Everton stars won't love training footage reveal
Everton aren't hiding the fact they've got a gem on their hands.
Finch Farm is one of the finest and most historically successful talent foundries in English football.
Countless quality professionals have come off its production line down the years.
Harrison Armstrong and Braiden Graham are two of the latest examples of how good Everton's academy system is.
So, as the Toffees look to march into an exciting future at Hill Dickinson Stadium, it's hoped the academy will reap the rewards too.
And in one young talent in particular, Everton appear to have struck future gold.
What did Francis Boggan do in Everton training footage?
Sometimes, it can be hard to believe a certain player is only a certain age, and that's the case with Francis Boggan.
The Everton Under-18 centre-back is only 15 years old, and is an England youth international.
Earlier this week, Boggan was invited to join David Moyes' first-team side in training, partly to help fill out the numbers during the international break.
It was also in part down to how much he's been impressing in the youth ranks, and that's no surprise when you see him in action.
Everton Academy posted footage of Boggan in action during first-team training to their X account on Thursday.
The first of two clips shows Thierno Barry try and fail to nutmeg the teenager, to which he stands firm and draws clear frustration from the striker.
In the second clip, Boggan turns away from Ainsley Maitland-Niles before performing a Maradona turn against Christian Norgaard.
He boxes the Danish midfielder out with ease as he claws at Boggan's bib, and to do this against established first-team players is very impressive.
This promotion to first-team training isn't the only way in which Everton have shown their faith in Boggan either.
Is Boggan signed to an Everton contract?
Still only 15, Boggan can't sign professional terms with Everton or any other club until he turns 17.
However, that doesn't prevent the Toffees from penning him to a scholarship contract.
These contracts are the typical pathway to professional deals, and can often be paired up to end around the time a player is turning 17.
As detailed via The Transfer Hunter on X, in Boggan's case, Everton weren't prepared to wait around.
They are said to have offered him a scholarship prior to the defender becoming Everton's youngest ever Under-18s player last year when he was 14.
Clearly then, Everton feel like they've got a special player on their hands, and this training ground footage only reinforces that notion.
