David Moyes was far from impressed with developments at Everton last season.

The Premier League season and new era at Hill Dickinson Stadium got off to a positive start for the Toffees.

But, as injuries hit throughout the season, this Everton squad were tested.

Moyes was far from happy as he missed out on European football in the final month of the season, despite being in the driving seat before.

But, there were differing opinions, with some questioning his stubborness in team selections and transfers.

Now, it appears that has translated into this summer.

There has always been some sort of quiet tension between the two.

And now, Mark Douglas has reported that there has been tension around several transfer targets already this summer.

With Moyes entering the final year of his contract and the Scotland job refusing to go away, question marks have been raised.

But, the I Paper state that there was zero chance of the Scotsman leaving Merseyside at the end of last season.

Now, a longer-term stay will require Moyes and his new signings to hit the ground running in the Premier League.

Who else could Everton sign?

A new right-back is on the cards.

This is where one part of the tension may have started, with Everton wanting Crystal Palace star Daniel Munoz.

But, it's said that Moyes doesn't particularly want the profile of Munoz in his starting Everton side.

Outside of that, another winger and striker are possibly wanted.

Jack Grealish is set to re-sign for Everton towards the end of the window, and that is one transfer that Moyes would love.

So, it's about making work what he has been given, but fans would also love Munoz after the initial links.

Those two signings would be huge, and Moyes has been given the tools needed for success with them both.
