Why David Moyes may pull plug on Daniel Munoz transfer at Everton
Everton fans were left excited by new links to Crystal Palace defender Daniel Munoz.
The Colombian has taken the Premier League by storm in recent years since arriving from Belgium.
Munoz became somewhat of a specialist right wing-back under Oliver Glasner, known for his attacking output most.
But, with Glasner moving to Nottingham Forest and Pierre Sage coming in at Selhurst Park, it's all change.
That has seen Everton take a shining to Munoz, who would be ready to sign him if Crystal Palace open the door in any way.
But, David Moyes may not be entirely happy with that.
What does David Moyes really want at Everton?
There are several areas of this squad that need sorting.
Brennan Johnson is on the verge of joining Everton from Palace, with Dwight McNeil going the other way in a swap deal.
Then, all eyes will be on Munoz.
Despite all of the excitement from fans around the links, and what it may mean for a change of system at Hill Dickinson Stadium, Moyes may not be on board.
The Daily Mail has reported in its print edition on Tuesday that the Scotsman may prefer a straight right-back for his plans.
It's stated by the newspaper on 11 August that Moyes wouldn't ideally want a prominent wing-back.
David Moyes faces Everton mutiny
This could actually be the final straw for many fans at Hill Dickinson.
Moyes did great to keep Everton afloat in the Premier League after Sean Dyche, but that credit is quickly running out.
The collapse at the end of last season to throw away European football was said to be down to Moyes' stubborness.
In his system, he continually played Jake O'Brien out of position at right-back, where, through no fault of his own, he was shocking.
Now, when Everton finally look to be ambitious and bring in a genuine star from a rival in the division, he could turn up his nose.
A change to five at the back may actually work wonders, and given the dominant central defenders available, it could help them.
Munoz bombing down one wing sounds incredible, and if Everton pass up this opportunity, it shows they were never really serious at all.
