Alan Myers, who is one of the most reliable sources when it comes to the Blues, was asked about Richarlison on X on Thursday.

He shared that he has not heard anything more than what has already been reported, that the Blues are interested.

He said: "Only being linked, not heard anything more on it."

That does not suggest that it is close to happening at this point.

The major benefit of bringing Richarlison back would be that he knows the club and the expectations that would be on his shoulders.

He also knows where the back of the net is, when he does get on the pitch, as he was Spurs' top Premier League goalscorer with 11 strikes.

However, there are also negatives to consider, which could derail a move if the Toffees decide to progress their interest.

The first is his injury record, he has not played more than 32 league games since he left the Merseyside outfit.

The second is the resale value, if the Toffees paid any sort of decent fee for him, they would be unlikely to get it back.

It could also put them in a position where they would have to lose Beto or Thierno Barry, as they would not want to be third string.
