Brennan Johnson contract details emerge at Everton as transfer now agreed

Brennan Johnson is en route to Everton to finalise his latest transfer.

The Welshman is set to join his fourth Premier League club permanently with his switch to Hill Dickinson Stadium.

After flying with Nottingham Forest and Tottenham in spells, it's been a frustrating seven months after joining Crystal Palace.

Signing back in January for a Palace record of £35million, Johnson wasn't able to prove himself at Selhurst Park.

The same frustrations can be shared by Dwight McNeil, who has failed to make any impression for years now at Everton.

And as the pair prepare to swap Premier League clubs, intriguing details are starting to be revealed that benefit the Blues.

McNeil nearly joined Palace for £20m back in January, so there is a clear difference in valuations for the pair.

Despite that, Everton are signing Johnson with no added fees on top.

David Moyes will be relishing the chance to work with a younger winger, who has played at the very top.

Now, Sami Mokbel has reported that Johnson and McNeil will sign four-year contracts at their new clubs.

Given Johnson has played Champions League football, as well as winning the Conference and Europa League, this is a huge upgrade.

McNeil wasn't wanted back in January, so getting rid now and bringing in a better option, is brilliant work.

When will Everton announce Brennan Johnson?

With medicals starting for both players on Monday, it shouldn't be long until this is made official.

Johnson will be crying out for a chance to prove himself again, and Everton is the perfect destination for that.

Palace play a very particular system, with wing-backs meaning that wingers are often pushed more centrally.

Johnson isn't about that, and will relish playing as wide as possible under Moyes, where he can pick up the ball and run down the byline frequently.

With Jack Grealish also set to re-sign for Everton soon, there are plenty of options available, something that hasn't been the case for years.

Johnson will join Iliman Ndiaye, Tyrique George, Tyler Dibling and possibly Grealish, with depth desperately needed after last season's failings.

Everton and Johnson may have found each other at the perfect time, now it's time to prove that.
