Carlos Alcaraz has confirmed his exit from Flamengo amid links to Everton in the winter transfer window.

The midfielder posted a farewell to the Brazilian outfit on his personal X account (31 January) as he looks set to sign for the Toffees, who have had their offer accepted [Raisa Simplicio, 31 January].

It looks like the 22-year-old has all but confirmed his departure from Flamengo, but Alan Myers revealed earlier on his personal X account (31 January) that the Blues are yet to complete a deal for him.

Will Carlos Alcaraz sign for Everton this transfer window?

After looking at the conflicting reports, the Goodison Park faithful will likely be confused regarding Alcaraz's situation.

While the Brazilian outfit have confirmed the Argentine midfielder's sale, there hasn't been an acknowledgement from the Merseyside outfit yet.

It will be interesting to see how the saga will unfold in the coming hours, as fans are used to drama at the Toffees now.

After several years of mismanagement under Farhad Moshiri, the supporters were happy to see The Friedkin Group come through the door, but the lack of signings in the winter transfer window has not been encouraging.

Everton evidently requires more bodies in their squad after suffering several fitness issues in their squad.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Armando Broja and Youssef Chermiti's absence means that Beto is the only natural striker at David Moyes' disposal.

The Scottish manager has also confirmed that Orel Mangala will fly back to France for his surgery after picking up a knock.

Alcaraz's arrival is definitely much-needed at Goodison Park, and fans will hope the 22-year-old's admission on social media means a deal has been wrapped up.
