Christian Norgaard to finally undergo medical as Everton transfer details revealed

Christian Norgaard has been lined up by Everton for what feels like weeks now.

The Arsenal midfielder is destined for Hill Dickinson Stadium, as David Moyes puts together his new-look squad.

Everton reached an agreement for Norgaard out of nowhere, with Idrissa Gana Gueye moving on already.

As things go quiet, though, there is no need to be worried.

Everton have started pre-season positively with a couple of wins, but much more is needed to bolster their squad.

Medical latest as Christian Norgaard announcement due

Despite agreeing a fee last week, not much progress was made quickly.

Now, the Daily Mail reports in its print edition that Norgaard will undergo his medical on Tuesday.

The newspaper states on 4 August that he will officially join once those formalities are completed.

It's further revealed that Tim Iroegbunam could be heading the other way, with serious interest in the Premier League and abroad.

Hull, Ipswich and Coventry are all said to have made approaches.

What next for Everton?

You would like to think that is the midfield set for Moyes.

Norgaard will join another new signing in Hayden Hackney, who cost eight-figures to sign from Middlesbrough.

Then there's Merlin Rohl who has signed permanently, with James Garner and Harrison Armstrong if needed, too.

Right-back feels like the next priority area, with Celtic's Alistair Johnston clearly a prime target for the Blues.

With Gueye moving on, there is a feeling of youth in midfield, so the arrival of Norgaard will help fill that void.

Having spent the majority of his time in England with Brentford, it wouldn't have initially felt as inspiring.

But after a year with Arsenal, in which he helped them lift the Premier League title and reach the Champions League final, this is different.

Even if he doesn't play every single week, Norgaard will become a pivotal figure for Moyes both on and off the pitch.

He could even somewhat become the latest version of Seamus Coleman in the squad, with his transfer now hours away.
