Dwight McNeil reacts to confirmed Everton contract announcement
Dwight McNeil has reacted as Everton announced a new contract fot Vitalii Mykolenko.
The Ukrainian defender is set to stay in Merseyside until 2029, with his three-year extension confirmed.
If he remains until the end of his current deal, it would take Mykolenko's spell at Everton to a total of seven years.
McNeil has been quick to react to the news via social media, with Mykolenko often forming a left-hand side partnership with the Englishman.
Now, Mykolenko and McNeil could continue that combination, with at least one of the two confirmed to be sticking around.
How has Dwight McNeil reacted to Vitalii Mykolenko's Everton extension?
Mykolenko's contract extension has been shared across all of Everton's social media accounts.
It did not take long for McNeil to see the news, with the Englishman liking the announcement on Everton's Instagram within 30 minutes of it being shared.
Other notable Toffees reactions include Francis Okoronkwo, whose own Everton contract is set to expire at the end of June. He also liked the post.
Academy graduate Tyler Onyango, who is in the same boat as Okoronkwo, has also done the same.
Former Everton goalkeeper Asmir Begovic and last season's loanee Orel Mangala are also among those quickest to react as well. The pair also issued a like to the announcement.
And UFC star Meatball Molly, a big Evertonian, also shared her happiness.
What is the latest on McNeil's future?
While Mykolenko is set to remain in L3, there is still uncertainty over McNeil.
The winger was poised to exit to Crystal Palace in the winter window before the plug was pulled on a £20million deal at the last second.
Since then, there have been little to no concrete links to an exit out of Everton. While the Blues continue to be linked with players in his position.
With his contract set to expire in 2027, this represents the last summer to extract any value he may hold in the market.
Either a sale to bring in funds or a new contract for McNeil to protect his value are the likely outcome.
Everton could be short of wingers in the summer, with Tyrique George and Jack Grealish's futures at Hill Dickinson still to be resolved after their loans.
Moyes reportedly wishes to keep both of them in Merseyside ahead of next season but not at the current prices set in their option to buy clauses.
Negotiations will have to get underway, but with managerial changes at Man City and Chelsea, that makes any move even more uncertain.
