Everton explore options for Folarin Balogun transfer beyond deadline

Everton could end up submitting a deal sheet to sign Folarin Balogun.

The Blues had agreed a £40million deal for the American striker and agreed on personal terms.

However, his medical is understood to have brought up issues, which could have caused the deal to collapse.

Everton sources insisted that was not the case, but they tried to get Joshua Zirkzee on loan.

Everton not giving up on Folarin Balogun deal

The Merseysiders are not giving up on Balogun, especially given their failed Zirkzee approach.

The Telegraph's Merseyside correspondent Dominic King claimed on Tuesday that the Blues were exploring their options.

He stated that there is the potential for a deal sheet to be submitted to the Premier League.

It is understood that the deal is not dead in the water, despite previous claims about it falling apart.

What is a deal sheet and how would it benefit Everton?

The deal sheet has have the player's name on, be signed by both clubs, with the player's signature, and all the financial details about the transfer.

It allows clubs to seal deals after the actual deadline as long as the above is all in place.

Essentially, as long as the Blues have got an agreement with Monaco, with the fee nailed down, they should be able to complete the deal.

It will be a relief for David Moyes, as he was facing the prospect of having only Thierno Barry to lead his frontline until January at least.

That would have been too much pressure for the young striker, and the Toffees chances of a European berth would have looked bleak this season.
