Everton have clear Raoul Bellanova transfer decision amid David Moyes desperation
Everton are said to be considering a move for Atalanta star Raoul Bellanova, and it makes their right-back decision easy this summer.
David Moyes is desperate to sign a new right-back this summer, with links to multiple stars across Europe already reported.
The Toffees have been linked with Middlesbrough's Hayden Hackney in recent weeks, as midfield is an area that the club would also like to improve.
However, Jake O'Brien's performances last season showcased why the Blues are in desperate need of cover on the right side of defence.
Seamus Coleman's exit has only added to the importance of recruiting in that area, as it's possible that Everton could be targeting two new right-backs.
However, amid links to Bellanova, the Toffees' transfer plans have just become a whole lot clearer.
Everton must avoid Aaron Wan-Bissaka and go for Raoul Bellanova
It seems like Everton have done most their research for a new right-back in the English and Italian market.
The Toffees have been linked with Sheffield United's Femi Seriki, and Bologna's Emil Holm.
But recent transfer news has seen Moyes' side register their interest in West Ham's Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
However, the Hammers may want up to £20million for the 28-year-old, which should force the Blues to turn their attention to Bellanova.
According to Paul Joyce, the Atalanta star is one of several options under consideration by the Blues.
The Italian has played seven seasons in the Serie A, and data from his time with Atalanta proves why Everton should go for him instead of Wan-Bissaka.
Bellanova's figures gives Everton assurances
Everton need a full-back who can do both sides of the game well, and Bellanova is that player.
The 26-year-old didn't have the most amazing season with Atalanta last campaign, but the one before that is what will standout to Everton
He grabbed nine assists in 34 league games during the 2024-25 season, but even last campaign he managed to make nine Champions League appearances.
Bellanova made his debut for Italy in 2024, and has since played six times for his nation, proving to be a genuine starting option at right-back for the Azzuri.
The Toffees have searched for and wide for Coleman's successor, but if the finances are right to make a deal for Bellanova, they must go for it.
