Everton learn Gabriel Sara price tag as January sale gets green light - Exclusive
Everton have now discovered how much it will take to sign Galatasaray star Gabriel Sara.
The Blues have reportedly set a meeting in January to discuss a deal for the 27-year-old midfielder.
He has been on David Moyes' radar for some time, and it seems like they are set to firm up their interest.
The Toffees' midfield ranks are already stacked with the likes of James Garner, Harrison Armstrong and Christian Norgaard.
However, another body, especially one with the quality of Sara could help the Blues to achieve their goals.
They are trying to get back to Europe, a level where the Super Lig side already play.
How much would Gabriel Sara cost Everton?
Turkish journalist Dogukan Yildirim believes that Gala are ready to sell the Blues target in the winter window.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, he said: "Gabriel Sara has been followed by Premier League clubs since last season.
"I can’t give an exact figure, but Galatasaray are ready to sell him if they receive a high offer.
"There is no concrete possibility at the moment, but there could be some movement during the January transfer window.
"His previous experience playing in the Championship with Norwich City could also increase his chances of a transfer.
The Sabah journalist shared some insight on a potential fee, saying: "Galatasaray signed Sara for £15.2 million, they will want to sell him for more than that.
"Club president Dursun Ozbek had previously said that Sara could bring the club £25–34m."
Why Everton need to sign Sara when the market reopens
Sara is capable of playing in defensive midfield, the centre or in a more advanced role.
He would bring goals and assists to the engine room which is something that the Toffees are lacking at the moment.
He has already scored two and assisted another two in six league matches so far this season for the Istanbul-based side.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is the only player to score from midfield in the league for Moyes' side.
Hayden Hackney and Armstrong have each bagged one assist from the position in the first five matches of the top-flight campaign.
It makes sense why the Hill Dickinson Stadium side want to bring in Sara then, as his versatility and contributions would help them out very much.
