Everton have been looking to secure the signing of winger Baris Alper Yilmaz.

However, things have not gone quite as well as the Blues would have hoped with an original offer of £35million batted away.

But that is the nature of the beast that is the transfer market and Everton have not been put off by that fact.

Everton have been said to be making a second offer for Yilmaz as they hope to land their next summer signing.

However, the Blues may have to ensure their offer reaches a certain price point.

That is because fellow Premier League side Tottenham are beginning to prepare an offer of their own.

Everton have been accelerating their pursuit of Yilmaz despite the fact that Tottenham are among the other suitors.

The Toffees are hoping to strike the best possible deal and one that will not leave them financially struggling this summer.

However, if the Blues want to get a deal done, they may have to cough up Galatasaray's asking price of £42.8million.

That is because according to Turkish outlet, ABC Gazetesi, Tottenham are preparing to meet that valuation, which is described as "one of the most important topics" on Galatasaray's agenda.

So, it seems that Tottenham may be leading the race with this transfer hijack unless Everton can at least match it.

But Everton are not completely out of the race at all with the Turkish giants evaluation all offers presented for their forward.

Why Everton may have to move quickly with Premier League rivals circling

Everton cannot afford to be left scrambling so they will have to move quickly in one of two ways.

If they do not want to cough up the same fee Tottenham are reportedly willing to do so, they have to move on to other targets quickly.

However, if Yilmaz is one of the top players on their shortlist, they must move quickly to get a deal agreed before Spurs can further jump ahead.

Either way, this transfer race must be concluded as soon as possible, with the Premier League season just two weeks away from starting.

Everton will host Crystal Palace at Hill Dickinson Stadium on 22 August, where there is the chance Yilmaz makes his professional debut for the Toffees.
