Everton learn Keito Nakamura transfer timeline as Reims president opens door to exit

Keito Nakamura is one of the many names linked to Everton this summer.

David Moyes will be eyeing improvements in the forward department with many of last season's attackers struggling.

Dwight McNeil was set to leave for Crystal Palace in the winter window and it remains to be seen what the future now holds.

Meanwhile, Tyler Dibling failed to impress in Merseyside, although he still has youth on his side.

Everton want Jack Grealish back but will have to wait near to the end of the window to secure that deal as he recovers from injury.

And the Blues may face another wait in their pursuit of Nakamura.

What has the Stade Reims president said about Keito Nakamura's future?

Everton have had to be patient this window with plenty more business still to be done for the Toffees.

Right-back is certainly a priority but Moyes could do with more pace and output in the forward areas.

Everton's links to Nakamura were interesting at the time, with the Japanese international a goal scoring winger, a profile they do not currently have.

His future in France looks to be nearing the end, though, following an impressive campaign where he got 14 goals and two assists in 29 appearances.

Now, Stade Reims' president Jean-Pierre Caillot in an interview with L'Union, has lifted the lid on his potential exit.

When asked about Nakamura, and others that could be sold he said: "With the type of players we have, decisions are usually made towards the end of the window.

"There's interest in our players. We're not hiding it; we have financial requirements that can hinder some deals."

So, while the trail on Nakamura may have gone cold, that could be down to the fact the six-time Ligue 1champions are not currently looking to sell.

However, that can all change as the president says towards the end of the window.

Who else could Everton swoop for?

Everton have been making moves in the wide forward market according to multiple reports.

Representatives of Everton have flown out to Turkey, as they look seal a transfer for Galatasaray forward Baris Alper Yilmaz.

Meanwhile, Krepin Diatta is a new Everton-link, with the Senagal interantional capable of playing both on the wing and at fullback.

Hopefully, it won't be long until another signing is officially announced by the L3 outfit.

And even if Nakamura is no longer a priority for Everton, it is nice to know that the possibility is still there should other moves collapse.
