Everton learn Torino price for Alieu Njie amid new transfer update
Everton have Alieu Njie among their transfer targets as they attempt to boost their attacking ranks this summer.
The Toffees flirted with European qualification at times last season in the Premier League.
However, they faltered badly once they were in position to strike and fell away to place 13th in the final standings.
Now, the focus is on adding more quality in the final third, especially with Jack Grealish's loan at an and and Ilman Ndiaye's future uncertain.
One player on their radar is said to be Sweden Under-21 attacker Njie, with David Moyes clearly keen to add more threat further forward.
And Moyes may now know roughly how much Everton will have to pay if they want to the 21-year-old.
Torino set Alieu Njie fee as Everton circle
It was reported by Tuttosport that Everton were willing to pay £8.7million to land Njie.
However, their pursuit was completed by the fact Torino view the player as "untouchable", so conditions for a sale are tricky.
Moreover, a new update from Belgian outlet Voetbalnieuws has added further difficulty to the deal.
They reported that Belgian giants Anderlecht were interested in signing Njie, but Torino are wanting a deal upwards of £13m to sell.
It means Everton would have to fork out significantly more to sign Njie than was first being report.
What would Njie offer to Everton?
The truth is that Njie, right now, offers little more to Everton than a promising prospect.
With just two career goals to his name, it is a stretch to think he could solve Everton's issues in the final third.
So, it begs the question, does £13m offer value for a player who, right now, only represents a punt on the future.
On the one hand, if he impresses, he could have huge resale value or become an important player at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
On the other, if he does not make the grade in the Premier League, then it would be a failed experiment at a time where funds could likely be better used elsewhere.
