Everton will surely be internally worried about the ongoing disagreement with Iliman Ndiaye and his camp regarding a new contract.

The Toffees have been in talks with the winger since the start of the year, and have held multiple rounds of dialogue regarding a new deal.

David Moyes, like every Everton fan, sees Ndiaye as a key player in his plans, and losing him would cause a major shift of focus in this transfer window.

Plans are already in place to sign back-up to the wide forward, though with Premier League clubs chasing his signature, the club may need to think about signing a replacement.

The Blues remain hopeful that they can tie their star man down to an improved deal, but there is still one main stumbling block in negotiations.

Ndiaye's camp want to include a release clause that could see him leave as early as this summer, but Everton have made there stance clear in that they don't want to agree on this.

Premier League clubs waiting to pounce on Iliman Ndiaye

There are several Premier League clubs who are interested in signing Ndiaye, which is perhaps the reason for a stall in contract talks.

The 26-year-old's representatives will be aware of said interest, and it could be a reason why they are being so stubborn in contract discussions.

They will want the best deal for their client, but at the same time, Everton don't want to set themselves up for disappointment.

Ndiaye is a history maker with the Toffees, scoring the last-ever goal at Goodison Park, along with the first at Hill Dickinson.

He is a fan favourite among Evertonians, but with Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester City and Arsenal all tracking his progress, he may not stay in Merseyside for much longer.

Everton need to set contract deadline with Ndiaye; here's why

The transfer window officially opens on 15 June, meaning Everton can start to finalise incomings and outgoings.

But if Ndiaye were to have his requested contractual release clause triggered at any point in the window, it would change the whole transfer picture.

Everton need to set the end of June as a deadline for contract talks with Ndiaye.

If nothing is agreed by then, the Toffees should reluctantly assume that he will be sold, as this summer gives them the best chance possible for a big fee.

£80million should be the asking price in today's market.
