Everton were linked with Jens Petter Hauge in previous transfer windows, and Goodison News understands that interest is set to resurface this summer.

With Jack Grealish's future still unknown, the Toffees are almost certain to be in the market for a new left-winger this summer.

Several names have already been mooted to rectify that need, and that of Hauge looks set to resurface.

Goodison News understands that the Toffees are ready to make approaches to sign the 26-year-old, who has also been the subject of interest from other Premier League clubs.

Hauge is under contract until 2028, meaning that Bodo/Glimt will be under no immediate pressure to sell.

And as a result, it's expected that they will demand a premium to sanction his exit.

How much may Everton have to pay for Jens Petter Hauge?

It's unclear how much money Everton will have available this summer, though it's likely that their marquee addition will be in the forward area.

If that were to be Hauge, then Goodison News understands they may have to pay upwards of £30million to land his signature.

The Norway international had a fine campaign last term, with 15 goals and nine assists, with 11 of those goal involvements arriving in the Champions League.

Given his lack of experience in the Premier League, it would be a substantial sum of money to invest, but given his performances, it may pay off.

What has been said about Hauge?

His numbers for Bodo Glimt speak for themselves, but there are several other aspects to his game that have often gone unnoticed.

That is aside from Andy Brassell, who believes he would thrive in the Premier League because of the attributes he has to offer.

Via talkSPORT, the European football expert said: "If he was going to come to the Premier League and we've seen the level of his ability, he's really something special.

"I don't think there are that many authentic wide players in the Premier League outside wing-backs anymore."

Hauge demonstrated his ability to beat a man in the Champions League last season, where he averaged 2.64 completed dribbles per 90.

Only 13.4 per cent of wingers could better that last campaign, and it is certainly an area in which the Toffees need to improve given that Iliman Ndiaye is the only player capable of such quality.

Could he be Everton's first signing of the summer transfer window?
