Everton's latest World Cup scouting mission has led them to Christ Inao Oulai.

The Toffees have been working on signings early in the window, finalising the arrival of Hayden Hackney, with an agreement now in place for Tyrique George.

However, the Blues have been paying attention to some of the rising stars at this year's World Cup, and Oulai is one of them.

The 20-year-old played in each of Ivory Coast's four matches in the tournament, but his nation was ultimately sent home by Norway in the Round of 32.

Multiple European sides are interested in the defensive midfielder, who could leave Turkish side Trabzonspor this summer.

Now, Everton are on to Oulai, and are said to be monitoring his situation closely.

Everton follow Christ Inao Oulai 'very closely'

According to Africa Foot, Everton have been added to the list of potential suitors for Oulai.

The Toffees are said to be monitoring the young midfielder "very closely" after being left impressed by his performances for Ivory Coast in North America.

Oulai has been described as a World Cup "revelation", with several other Premier League clubs also said to be interested.

Trabzonspor want a fee in the region of £19million for their young starlet, who is under contract until 2030.

Everton would need to battle with the likes of Brentford, Fulham, Chelsea, Nottingham Forest, Barcelona, PSG and other big European sides for his signature.

Though David Moyes still seems keen to add to his ranks in midfield.

Oulai is just another name added to the growing list of midfield targets that the Toffees.

However, what this suggests is that the club aren't done shopping for recruits in the middle of the park despite Hackney's arrival.

Though James Garner and Hackney look set to be the midfield pivot next season, the future of Idrissa Gana Gueye remains uncertain, while Charly Alcaraz and Merlin Rohl could also want to leave.

Oulai would be a smart pick up by Everton, though it remains to be see whether the Friedkin Group would be willing to pay around £19m for the young World Cup sensation.
