Everton have reportedly began trying to bring Bayern Munich attacker Thomas Muller to the club in the summer.

According to German publication Bild, the Toffees are keen on securing the services of the 2014 World Cup winner.

The 32-year-old has less than 18 months left on his deal at the Bundesliga giants and Everton are looking to prise him away in the summer.

Big name boost

Muller may not be the player he was in his heyday, but he will still be an impactful signing for the club.

He's well aware that he's not as fast and sharp as he once was, but his footballing brain ensures that he finds himself in the right place at the right time.

His movement is second to none in world football and given Frank Lampard's penchant for playing an expansive brand of football, he could be the perfect fit for his system.

Last year, former Bayern boss Hansi Flick hailed the “sensational” Germany international via FotMob.

He could still have two good seasons as a regular and Everton must look to sign him if they're given the chance.

Generational players like him aren't available all the time and if there is a deal to be done, Lampard would surely want the club hierarchy doing it.
