Everton are in an uncomfortable position with Iliman Ndiaye right now after being left disappointed in contact talks.

The Blues have tried several times since the start of the year to get their star man tied down to new terms, but have failed to do so.

Ndiaye is a fan favourite at Hill Dickinson and will always be remembered for the history he has made.

However, David Moyes will be keen to resolve the issues with the winger one way or another, with the 2026-27 season looming.

Multiple Premier League clubs are said to be monitoring the Senegal international, who is set to return to Merseyside soon after his nation was dumped out of the World Cup.

Everton will be hoping to gain more clarity on Ndiaye's future, as there is currently some anxiety lingering due to uncertainty.

Everything we know about current Ndiaye disagreement

Everton are said to have placed a £70million pricetag on Ndiaye, with both Arsenal and Manchester United reportedly interested.

Manchester City have also been credited with appreciation for the 26-year-old in the past, though it's not known if the Citizens still retain this stance after Pep Guardiola's exit.

There are plenty of people who think the versatile forward can thrive elsewhere in the Premier League, and the Toffees may have less of a chance of keeping him after failing to qualify for a European competition.

Ndiaye himself has recently come out with cryptic comments suggesting he wants to test himself at a club that can give him European football, which angered some Evertonians.

The Athletic have recently reported that the player has rejected "multiple" contract offers from the Blues, with the current impasse down to a potential release clause.

Ndiaye and his agents are said to want to include a clause that could see him leave as early as this summer if triggered, though Everton are unwilling to agree to it for a new deal.

Moyes has already been asked the question about the possibility of selling Ndiaye.

What David Moyes has said about selling Ndiaye

Like most Everton fans, Moyes does not want to part ways with Nidaye anytime soon.

Speaking on 11 April before a 2-2 draw with Brentford last season, the Scot said, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo: "He is the last person I would consider selling.

“There are others as well [that I wouldn’t want to sell], but my point is I have no interest in hearing the talk if there is talk out there."

The problem for Everton is that they won't want an unhappy player on their books, with Ndiaye contracted to the club until 2028.

Hopefully the two parties can come to a compromise soon.
