Everton fans are waking up to the dramatic news that Folarin Balogun's transfer has collapsed.
The Toffees were expected to complete a deal in the region of £40million for the United States international.
But, after an evening of extreme drama, Balogun will not be arriving on Merseyside after all and is staying at Monaco.
It represents a huge blow for Everton, who allowed Beto to depart for Fiorentina thinking they would get Balogun in the door.
Consequently, Everton will have to get to at least January with only Thierno Barry as a senior recognised striker on the books.

Why has the Folarin Balogun transfer collapsed?
It is an absolutely baffling turn of events, which will leave Everton fans once again shaking their heads in disbelief.
Balogun looked absolutely nailed on to move to Hill Dickinson Stadium, until late drama occured on deadline day.
Ornstein, writing in the Athletic, detailed how an issue arose with Balogun during his medical checks at Finch Farm.
The Toffees tried to strike a late deal to bring Joshua Zirkzee in on loan from Manchester United, but the Red Devils would not sanction his exit so late in the day.
Everton successfully renegotiated a fee with Monaco for Balogun, and it looked the deal would get done after all after a deal sheet was submitted.
However, Ornstein reported that Balogun had a change of heart and opted not to sign, departing Finch Farm without signing for Everton.
What next for Everton after Balogun fiasco?
Once again, Everton find themselves in an absolutely embarrassing position.
David Moyes must be absolutely furious at what has transpired over the past 24 hours.
The return of Jack Grealish and the signing of Ainsley Maitland-Niles addresses a couple of issues.
But he has lost Iliman Ndiaye, and seen Beto allowed to depart without signing a replacement.
There is now a lot of pressure on Barry to not only score the goals, but stay fit knowing there is no other real option up top.
Tyrique George, more at home on the flanks, can play up top but it is absolutely far from ideal.
