Harrison Armstrong set to miss Everton clash vs Bournemouth amid Nottingham Forest transfer latest

Harrison Armstrong is likely to be absent from Everton's matchday squad when they take on Bournemouth on Saturday.

David Moyes' men are looking to build on a strong start to the new season when they head to the Vitality Stadium this weekend.

However, they may have to make do without 19-year-old Armstrong, who is the subject of interest from Nottingham Forest.

It's been reported that Forest are in talks over a £40m deal for Armstrong.

David Ornstein has now added that the deal is at a stage where the Liverpool-born midfielder might not even be involved at Bournemouth in the final game before the transfer window shuts.

What David Ornstein has now said about Harrison Armstrong

Speaking live from Anfield ahead of Liverpool's clash against Nottingham Forest, Ornstein repeated reports that the East Midlands club have made an offer for Armstrong.

He then added that while it's come as a surprise, it's a deal that he does see getting completed before the 11pm transfer cut-off on Tuesday.

"Harrison Armstrong is one of Everton's foremost young players. He's very highly rated," Ornstein said on TNT Sports on Saturday.

"Nottingham Forest have come in and they've made an offer and are in talks for a deal worth £40million.

"I do think this one stands a good chance of happening.

"It's not done yet and it's understandably had quite an emotional reaction from Everton supporters."

Ornstein added: "It's one that has come out of the blue and Forest, if they get him, it'll be a great capture.

"We'll see where this one goes but there's a few suggestions he might not be involved at Bournemouth today for Everton."

Armstrong's exit is one that is no doubt causing a lot of anger among Evertonians on social media, but what are the other implications if this deal goes through?

What does Armstrong's sale mean for Everton?

No one wants to see Armstrong leaving Everton, let's get that straight for starters.

But there's got to be a good reason why the Toffees are selling one of their best young players, especially to a Premier League rival at this late stage of the summer transfer window.

One reason could be that Everton still need to make some sales in order to bring in one or two new faces before the transfer window closes.

Financial issues have been prevelant for years on the blue half of Merseyside, so could this be a deal that's being done because of that?

Or could this deal be getting sanctioned so that Moyes will, at least, be able to keep hold of in-demand Iliman Ndiaye?

Either way, it's not a good look for the fans, who'd probably rather keep a player like Armstrong who's from the area and come through the academy.
