How Everton can sign Jack Grealish again at even better transfer rate

Jack Grealish will likely be the name on the lips of every Everton fan in the final week of the transfer window.

Things have gone quiet again at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but plenty of business is still required before 1 September.

Everton got their season off to the perfect start with a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace, but it did highlight some flaws.

Hayden Hackney shined on his official debut in midfield, but more is likely needed in defence and in the final third.

That's where Grealish could come into play.

David Moyes wants the winger again after his loan from Manchester City last season, but there have been plenty of twists and turns already.

How Jack Grealish could sign for favourable terms

One thing that isn't up fror dispute is that he wants to return to Everton if made fully available.

Enzo Maresca has used Grealish at the start of this season, in that Community Shield defeat to Arsenal.

But, he's still expected to leave the Etihad.

The I Paper has now reported that Grealish is in Everton's crosshairs, and there is a belief that a deal can be done.

It's stated that so far, the financial terms don't work for either club.

With only one year left on his deal at City, Grealish wants a permanent move now, rather than moving for free next season.

But, it's said that Everton's "red line" is a loan move for now, and on better terms than they got last season, which cost them £12million.

Who will blink first is apparently the big question.

There has been rumours of Leeds interest online, but there has been nothing concrete on that possibility.

So, Everton could find themselves with a free run at Grealish.

Moyes has serious issues to solve elsewhere first, though, with a new right-back still not through the door.

While Merlin Rohl impressed there against Palace, he's a natural midfielder and we can't be using players out of position in that role for another year.

Everybody knows that, and have done for years, so Angus Kinnear really needs to start proving any sort of worth that he has to this football club.

With several sticking points still, Grealish is one who could be revisited if needed at the very end of the window.
