The latest Everton target is Anthony Martial, who the Toffees have been offered the chance to sign.
He is currently a free agent after departing Mexican side Monterrey.
His Premier League experience could see him be a real target on Merseyside as desperation comes to the fore in L3.
An offer of a return to England could prove to be enough to tempt Martial, especially after the struggles he has faced in recent years.
Why was Anthony Martial compared to Thierry Henry?
The forward is now 30 and is coming off the back of failed spells with Monterrey and AEK Athens.
His struggles are clear for all to see, but his career was looking massively bright at one stage.
Martial joined Manchester United in 2015 off the back of a breakout in the Monaco first-team.
His move to Old Trafford cost upwards of £36million and certainly started with a bang as he scored an iconic debut goal against Liverpool.
At the time, there were high hopes for the forward and he was directly compared to Henry.
French football writer Philippe Auclair made the comparison at the time that summed up the feeling of those in the forward's homeland.
He said: "The one comparison made by everybody in France - and will probably be made by everybody in England over the next few days - is he reminds people of Henry.
"He's not as tall - he's about two inches shorter - but he is lightning quick. He's got good technique, good skills, he's a good finisher, but he is still a raw product. We don't know how far he can go."
Martial has undoubtedly lost a few yards of that speed, but may prove to be as good as Everton can get right now.
