How Everton may only sign one more player before transfer deadline

Everton fans are desperate for new signings as the transfer deadline quickly approaches.

Things have gone quiet at Hill Dickinson Stadium on the transfer front, with more certainly needed before 1 September.

David Moyes has voiced those desires, with Angus Kinnear also running his mouth to the media recently.

But, the Friedkins are yet to act with big money in this market.

Tyrique George and Merlin Rohl turned their loans into permanent stays, while Hayden Hackney and Brennan Johnson also signed.

Thankfully, the first three shined in the 2-0 win over Crystal Palace to open the Premier League season with a bang.

Who else could Everton sign before deadline?

Supporters want a handful of new arrivals, not just one.

And as the Toffees prepare to challenge Preston in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, things are quiet.

Sky Sports have now shared updates on each Premier League club, with Everton still clearly wanting a right-back.

Moyes' preferred target is clearly Strasbourg's Guela Doue, but the price is possibly too high for that.

Ridle Baku and Daniel Munoz are two other options.

Annoyingly, a new striker is described as a "potential", with another winger dubbed as a "maybe".

Reading between the lines, it appears that all efforts will be on getting that new right-back through the door and not much else.

Of course, Seamus Coleman held down the fort for as long as he could, but towards the end of his career, that couldn't happen

As injuries took their toll, Nathan Patterson was signed from Rangers.

The Scotland international simply isn't the answer, with Jake O'Brien and now Rohl both preferred out of position.

But going from five possible signings to only one, it would be a disappointing end to the window for everyone at Everton.

Given how easily things went wrong last season, they've only truly brought in two new faces, and also lost Jack Grealish.

Now he could still return, but fresh players and new skillsets were needed, and that's what may arrive with a new right-back.
