How John Stones could deliver Everton transfer favour in Lloyd Kelly pursuit
John Stones was mooted for an Everton return but that has had little movement in recent weeks.
Stones making his way back to the Toffees looks uncertain at this stage with multiple European clubs eyeing a move for the six-time Premier League winner.
However, while the 32-year-old will not be helping Everton in their push to qualify for Europe, he could aid in another way.
Everton's interest in a move for Lloyd Kelly has emerged in recent weeks.
And while Juventus are said to be open to an exit, that could move swiftly on due to Stones.
It may not be the help that Everton fans were hoping for, but it would still be highly welcomed at Hill Dickinson Stadium.
The transfer domino effect that could benefit Everton in pursuit of Lloyd Kelly
Everton could find themselves in the middle of a transfer domino.
Juventus are willing to sell Kelly amid Everton's interest, and now it seems they are looking at reinforcements already.
According to the Daily Mail, Juventus have now entered the race for Stones.
However, the Old Lady's potential transfer for the centre-back will heavily rely on his wages.
Juventus currently have a limited budget when it comes to transfers this summer after failing to qualify for the Champions League, with Europa League football on its way instead.
But if Stones can agree to a reduction in wages, and make the move to Serie A, that could certainly further open the door for Kelly's exit.
Hopefully he can hand his former employers that favour, 10 years on from his initial departure.
What Juventus' initial transfer for Kelly tells Everton
If Everton do not already the type of player Kelly is, they only need to look as far as Juventus' original announcement.
The Italian club have outlined all of the qualities that the Englishman brings and these would certainly delight the Toffees fanbase.
On Juventus' website, they state he is "known for his speed, his ability to build up play from the back and his tactical reading of the game."
Additionally, they highlight his ability to win headers in both the defence and during set-piece plays.
With the latter becoming more and more important in the modern game.
His versatility to play at both left-back and centre-back also offered the Turin-club multiple options for tactical set-ups.
And Moyes has been known to be fond of a centre-back being deployed out wide.
