How realistic Charly Alcaraz January exit is as Everton experiment not seen yet
Charly Alcaraz stares at an uncertain future at Everton.
The Argentine midfielder is in the final year of his contract at the Toffees and will be a free agent next summer.
There's plenty of speculation around the 23-year-old's future at the Blues ahead of January.
Alcaraz is attracting interest away from Hill Dickinson Stadium and could have a chance to leave in the winter transfer window.
Considering the midfielder's lack of regular game time under David Moyes since last season, it would be surprising to see him put pen to paper on a new deal.
January could be the Merseyside outfit's last chance to cash in on the South American ace and his future is worth watching closely.
Charly Alcaraz transfer latest at Everton
Fenerbahce want to sign Alcaraz, with the midfielder one of the options on the Super Lig club's shortlist.
The midfielder made 20 Premier League appearances last season, with most of them coming off the bench.
In the 2026-27 campaign, the South American has played just 26 minutes despite the lack of personnel at Moyes' disposal, especially in the number nine, with Thierno Barry the only natural option.
The Scottish manager recently admitted that the former Flamengo ace could provide cover up front, saying: "Charly could be one of them [options to support Barry] if we needed it."
Moyes has been reluctant to use Alcaraz up front, and with the midfield already packed with quality, the possibility of his exit from the Merseyside outfit certainly grows amid Fenerbahce's interest.
What Charly Alcaraz has failed to do at Hill Dickinson Stadium
Since Everton's move to Hill Dickinson Stadium, Alcaraz has struggled to settle.
In the Toffees' final months at Goodison Park, the midfielder played a key role in helping Moyes' team avoid relegation and was subsequently signed permanently after an initial loan spell.
Speaking about Alcaraz, former teammate Jack Harrison said "He's an amazing player – he's got a lot of talent, you see that every day in training."
The Blues must have had faith in the South American youngster's potential to invest in him.
However, the midfielder has failed to live up to expectations in L3 and he could be in the final years of his stint on Merseyside.
