Jack Grealish's future still needs to be resolved with Everton awaiting to learn his next transfer.

The Manchester City winger had an excellent loan spell with the Toffees last season, but it was unfortunately cut short through injury.

The Englishman is surplus to requirements at the Etihad, with multiple Premier League sides eyeing a transfer.

Alongside Everton, Sunderland and Aston Villa have been mooted as options for the 30-year-old this summer.

Everton are in need of adding names to their squad, particularly in the forward areas.

And bringing someone who already knows what it is like to play for Everton would be ideal.

Everton fans will have been waiting to see what Grealish wants for his future.

Now, it appears he wants to come back to Hill Dickinson for the 2026-2027 season and beyond.

The winger is in the final year of his contract with Man City and looks to have no future there.

Now, according to journalist Alex Crook, Grealish has made his decision with Everton his preferred destination this summer.

At Everton, the Englishman showed a fearlessness he has rarely had since leaving Aston Villa, mainly with the ball at his feet, a trait highlighted in the past.

Paul Merson once stated via Sky Sports that he felt Grealish was "special" when running with the ball.

He said: "You've got to be special at something, and Grealish is special at dribbling, I don't know anybody like him, he does everything."

Why Grealish decision is major news for Everton

Everton have made a big impact on Grealish despite just one season in L3.

That is evident through Grealish's decision.

It is made even more significant when you learn that he is seemingly snubbing his boyhood club, Aston Villa, in favour of the Toffees.

According to Ben Jacobs, following on from Crook's report, he shares that the Villans have submitted a loan offer.

Now, with any obstacle out of the way in terms of competition, the Blues need to get to work on agreeing a deal with Manchester City.

Whether that is to take him back on loan in order to save finances, or agree to a permanent deal remains to be seen.

But, it is certainly positive news that Everton are in the driving seat when it comes to Grealish's future.

There is plenty of work to do now, with the transfer deadline set for 11 PM on 1 September.

Hopefully, this can be a move that is set into motion quickly.
