Merlin Rohl: Everton's deafening silence speaks volumes as permanent deal confirmed
Merlin Rohl has already completed a permanent transfer to Everton, according to reports abroad.
Plenty had been made of the loan arrival of Rohl, given the fact that the German has started just twice for the Toffees in the Premier League.
He's been handed just 358 minutes of league action this season, despite having been available for the majority of their encounters.
To make matters worse, Rohl has played just five minutes for Everton since the end of January, showcasing where he stands in the pecking order.
Reports abroad now state that Rohl has signed for Everton permanently, having had the clause triggered, and the lack of communication from the Merseysiders says a lot about the situation.
Merlin Rohl clause activated at Everton
Rohl joined Everton on loan from Freiburg with a clause to buy as soon as the Toffees were safe from relegation.
Their Premier League status was officially confirmed this weekend after Tottenham's draw with Brighton, with a report from Fussball Transfers quoting Kicker, stating that the clause has now been activated.

The Toffees have reportedly paid a fee in the region of £20million to make the deal permanent, though it has yet to be announced.
And that speaks volumes about the situation, given the fact that Rohl has yet to impress whatsoever for the Merseysiders.
Rohl is now seemingly Everton's first signing of the summer transfer window, and the Blues may look to delay the announcement until then.
Everton may cut losses with Rohl already
Rohl has had no place at Everton this season, and that lack of importance will only grow with the Toffees likely to add at least one new midfielder to their squad this summer.
A loan move may come to fruition for the German, or even a permanent sale may be on the cards, despite his signing only having just been confirmed.
David Moyes is evidently not a fan of what Rohl brings to the table, and that is highly unlikely to change heading into the new campaign.
