Nathan Patterson agrees terms for permanent Everton exit as clause revealed

Nathan Patterson is finally about to seal his exit from Everton with Serie A side Torino agreeing a permanent deal.

The Scotland full-back made the move to Everton back in January 2022 from Rangers.

However, a mix of injury issues and poor form has meant the move has never really worked out for the 24-year-old.

Patterson is in the final year of his contract at Everton, and the Toffees have been working on finding solutions throughout the summer.

Now, Fabrizio Romano has offered an update on Patterson's next move, which includes details of a clause for Everton.

Nathan Patterson agrees Torino contract as Everton exit imminent

It has been pretty telling that neither David Moyes nor predecessor Sean Dyche fancied Patterson at right-back.

Indeed, both managers preferred to use makeshift options, with Moyes utilising Jake O'Brien last season and starting with Merlin Rohl this term.

Noted Italian journalist Romano took to X on deadline day to report that Patterson is now set to join Torino in a permanent deal.

He added that Patterson has agreed a three-year contract until June 2029 with the Serie A outift, while the deal includes a "big sell-on clause".

Sky Sport Italia reporter Luca Bendoni added more details of Patterson's exit.

He reported on X that Everton will receive a £850,000 fee for Everton, and that the sell-on clause is a hefty 30 per cent.

What next for Everton on deadline day?

Everton have left it extremely late to work on incomings and outgoings at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

As well as Patterson, both Iliman Ndiaye and Tim Iroegbunam are expected to leave to Manchester City and Hull City respectively.

Everton have agreed a loan deal with Man City for Jack Grealish to return and he will undergo a medical.

Monaco striker Folarin Balogun is also headed to Merseyside for a medical ahead of a big-money move from Ligue 1.

Fulham full-back Kenny Tete could also make the move to Everton, who are in dire need of a right-back.

Either way, those revolving doors will be non-stop today.
