Robin van Persie has already hailed 'unbelievable' Ayase Ueda trait amid Everton speculation
Everton would do no worse than listen to the words of former Premier League striker Robin van Persie in their number nine hunt.
The Dutchman has played at the highest of levels, and at Manchester United added a much-coveted Premier League title to his name.
In the English top flight, he netted 144 goals, so the former Arsenal and Man United star has the credentials to judge centre-forwards.
So, in that regard, his words about Everton target Ayase Ueda will hold quite a lot of power.
Ueda has been shining on the international stage for Japan at the 2026 World Cup, which will only increase his stock throughout Europe.
And Everton will want to be at the front of the queue based on van Persie's comments.
What did Robin van Persie say about Everton target Ayase Ueda?
Ueda looks more likely to leave Feyenoord this summer than he has ever looked before.
Fabrizio Romano has claimed he "could leave" and that his attention is "growing" following his World Cup exploits, with Everton put on notice, according to TeamTalk.
Van Persie, who managed the Japan star at Feyenoord, is a big fan of the qualities he has to offer, and David Moyes will also enjoy what he has to say.
The Dutchman stated in September 2025 via FC Update: "Ueda has covered an unbelievable amount of distance — you wouldn’t believe it. Because of that, he has become so fit and has started doing everything much better."
In a league such as the Premier League, where physical attributes can be just as important as technical, Ueda's stamina would prove to be a key asset.
In that sense, the World Cup footballer would be a completely different profile to what Moyes currently has in both Beto and Thierno Barry.
Ueda is a bonified centre-forward, and it is the position he has overwhelmingly played throughout his career.
While he has featured as a number 10 and out on both wings, those games played are in single digits.
Ueda would make instant Everton history
Interestingly, while the Everton women's side has done plenty of business for Japanese players, Ueda would be the first to feature for the men in the history of the club.
It would be quite the honour for the striker to hold.
So, Ueda would start his career at Hill Dickinson already entering the history books.
A transfer this summer for Ueda would be 24 years after the first Asian player, Li Weifeng of Chinese nationality, joined the Toffees on loan.
