Everton's attempts to sign Galatasaray star Baris Alper Yilmaz may have stalled.

The Blues are understood to have an offer rejected, which was believed to be in the region of £35million.

David Moyes is desperate to add attacking reinforcements to his side ahead of the new season.

He notched 19 and assists in the Turkish league last season, which would make him a brilliant addition if he repeat that in England.

Goodison News can now update supporters the latest on the situation surrounding the 26-year-old.

It may not be the amount, but rather the Super Lig side's pursuit of a replacement that has seen a deal stall.

What is the latest on Everton and Baris Alper Yilmaz?

Turkish journalist Dokugan Yildirim has shared that status of the deal, which is hanging in the balance.

He has now shared an update on the situation, with the sides not understood to be in talks at the moment.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, he said: "There are currently no serious talks between Everton and Galatasaray.

"Galatasaray insist they will not let Baris Alper Yilmaz leave unless they sign a new winger first.

"Rafael Leao is still the main target, while talks for Gabriel Martinelli also started in the last two days.

"If a new winger arrives, Galatasaray’s minimum asking price for Baris Alper will be £34m."

Why Everton's Yilmaz interest may not be over just yet

There are likely still twists and turns in the chase for Yilmaz, as there is constantly conflicting reports over bids and the price.

The fact that talks seem to have stalled does not mean that they can't be revived in the near future.

The Turkish side, who are 26-times champions of the Turkish Super Lig, need to sign a replacement before even considering an exit, judging by Yildirim's latest update.

Once they do that, the door could open against for Moyes' side to make a new approach and perhaps they will even be able to do it for a cheap price and get their new winger.

It remains to be seen whether the 38-cap international will end up at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, but it may be one to watch it the coming weeks.
