Everton have officially confirmed the signing of Brennan Johnson from Crystal Palace.

Despite spending £35million to sign him from Tottenham in January, Johnson was once again on the move.

Dwight McNeil has gone the other way to Selhurst Park, with a straight swap accepted between both clubs.

At first glance, it feels like a great deal for Everton.

David Moyes has secured a winger he has greatly admired for years, whilst losing an attacker that was rarely used.

Now, Everton can focus on other areas of their squad, while being delighted with the business done so far.

Moyes' admiration should give him a platform to shine, and the Premier League is less than two weeks away now.

Ironically, Crystal Palace travel to Everton on the opening day and Johnson will want to down Pierre Sage and his former club.

Everton have Iliman Ndiaye, Tyrique George and Tyler Dibling out wide, so it will be healthy competition.

With Jack Grealish also set to re-sign for Everton, there is a brilliant platform to shine at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

Johnson will match the determination of Everton to recover from the lows of last season.

Not scoring frequently, as the Toffees threw away European football, both will be chomping at the bit to right those wrongs.
