What Pavel Sulc's signing would mean for future of Everton squad

Pavel Sulc could be on his way to Everton from Olympique Lyon this summer.

The 25-year-old is coming off a brilliant campaign in Ligue 1, scoring 11 goals and providing three assists in 27 appearances.

It isn't surprising to see the Toffees being linked with the attacking-midfielder as they look to add goals to their squad.

Sulc would give David Moyes a unique option at Hill Dickinson Stadium due to his versatility.

The Czechia international can feature across the final third of the pitch, which would give the Scottish manager some depth in different areas.

While the attacker would definitely bring a lot of quality to L3, his arrival could potentially lead to some massive changes at the Merseyside outfit.

Goodison News have covered reports that Sulc could cost around £25million at Hill Dickinson Stadium this summer.

That isn't a significant price tag for a player who has come off a decent goalscoring campaign.

Moyes could do with someone of the Czechia midfielder's quality on the bench, but that would leave other players looking over their shoulders.

Charly Alcaraz and Merlin Rohl are already struggling for minutes in the number 10 role due to Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall's form.

The two midfielders would certainly have to redefine their roles if Sulc signs for the Blues, too.

With the attacking-midfielder also capable of playing as a centre-forward, Thierno Barry and Beto would have some much-needed competition.

How David Moyes could change style of play with Pavel Sulc

Sulc made a name for himself at Victoria Plzen before starring for Paulo Fonseca at Lyon.

Speaking to the media about the playmaker, the Portuguese manager said, "He's a different kind of player. He's not amazing technically, but he's very efficient, he works very hard for the team, and the ball seems to be drawn to him."

Midway through last season, Fonseca started using Sulc in the false nine position to good effect.

The Czechia international's eye for a goal means he's capable of featuring up top.

Moyes could use the attacker in a similar position and change the style of play up a bit, with the wingers playing a central role in running behind the oppostion defence as the centre-backs are dragged out of position.

Beto and Barry share similar profiles and Sulc would add a different dimension to the forward line in Merseyside.
