Why Everton could be in trouble already

Once again, this has been another terrible transfer window so far.

Important names both on and off the pitch, like Gueye, have been moved on, yet they are nowhere near close to being replaced.

Hackney is still yet to feature in pre-season, which makes Garner's injury even more worrying ahead of the Premier League.

Big money has still been spent on Tyrique George and Merlin Rohl staying permanently after their loans, but the squad is now weaker.

Coleman moving on also leaves another hole at right-back, with Nathan Patterson the only natural option.

Everton simply can't afford to start another season with Jake O'Brien or somebody else out of position down the right.

It's been years of stupidity and weakness in that area, yet Moyes, the Friedkins and Angus Kinnear aren't addressing it.

With Gueye moving on alongside others, the Toffees are simply leaving themselves with far too many transfer priorities to sort.
