What Vincent Kompany has done so far as Bayern Munich seek Everton agreement for Jordan Pickford

Jordan Pickford is no stranger to being a wanted man at Everton.

The goalkeeper has become England's best while on Merseyside, competing against the very top in his position in the Premier League.

It's been a decade of Pickford at the top level, and he still doesn't get the credit that he deserves.

But with credible transfer links to clubs like Chelsea and now Bayern Munich, people are starting to take notice.

Pickford is currently away with England as he prepares to play two of four Nations League fixtures.

That hasn't stopped the consistent speculation, though.

Could Bayern actually sign Jordan Pickford?

It's hard to imagine it actually happening, or Everton allowing it to.

Alan Nixon has reported on his Patreon on Sunday that Bayern have Pickford on their shortlist, and possibly ahead of Brighton's Bart Verbruggen.

Manuel Neuer has also been given a new contract recently, but the German giants know he needs replacing soon.

It's said that Kompany has been gathering reports from old friends in football, all on Pickford.

Nixon states it would take big money to tempt Pickford, who could fancy the move for the challenge, Champions League football and a move to one of the world's biggest clubs.

Why Everton are in strong position over Pickford

This isn't the first time we've seen reports like this.

David Moyes has been around the block in football, and he'll be calm around the situation, regardless of the haphazard management from boardroom level at Everton.

Bundesliga clubs have targeted English players in recent years, with Harry Kane and Jude Bellingham the two marquee names.

Kane is obviously at Bayern and is known to be close to Pickford.

But, Everton tied down their number one to a long-term deal back in October 2025, keeping him around for four years.

That's the one good thing that the Toffees have done, with James Garner also tied down to a new contract this summer with interest growing.

Everton can't afford to sell anymore players, with the likes of Beto, Nathan Patterson and Adam Aznou all gone with no replacements.

The only downside of Pickford being number one by so far, is that if he leaves, the drop in quality is astronomical.

Let's hope this doesn't end in him packing his bags, it would be a sad day for everybody.
