Everton could revisit their Sacha Boey interest amid developments out of Bayern Munich.

The Toffees are reportedly pushing forward with plans to scoop up Celtic right-back Alistair Johnston.

Goodison News has been keeping up with the latest, including how much Everton could offer Celtic for Johnston.

Negotiations over the Canadian international may not be easy as Celtic would rather keep him in Scotland.

But for Everton, they will need to secure a back-up option if talks for Johnston do not reach a positive conclusion.

Now, updates out of Germany could place Boey back into Everton's eyeline this summer.

What has happend with Sacha Boey and Bayern Munich

Everton were looking to sign Boey in January, according to reports out of Germany.

However, nothing did come out of that interest as the Toffees seemingly opted to wait until the summer to make their right-back move.

A new chance to land Boey could now arise, though, especially if Johnston cannot be signed.

As Tribuna relay, Max Eberl, the Bayern Munich sporting director, has confirmed that Boey's future remains away from Bavaria.

He is quoted as saying in an update that also includes Joao Palhinha and Bryan Zaragoza: "They have no future at Bayern.

"If they want to stay with us, it will be tough because we are not planning with them. Then they won't play a role."

When it comes to a right-back signing, supporters in L3 are growing impatient. It has been a position needing strengthening since last summer.

And now, the Toffees continue to slow-roll their progress in the market on that front.

Why Boey could be shrewd signing by Everton

With Boey out of favour at Bayern, it is hard to imagine the Bundesliga champions would ask for a high fee.

He featured just nine times in the German top flight last season.

And with the Frenchman still just 25 years old, there is every chance his career could be turned around.

The Blues seen it with their own eyes how the right move can reignite a career, as they did with Jack Grealish.

Praise from former managers and teammates also highlights the qualities that Boey possesses, after all there was a reason that a side like Bayern Munich signed him.

As per the Bundesliga website, Nicolo Zaniolo who played with him at Galatasaray, stated: "Sacha is a good player: he runs hard, has technique, defends well."

So, while Boey looks for a second chance in football, the Toffees could turn to Boey for a second chance at signing him.
