Everton Women expert: Brian Sorensen reign off to solid start

We’re delighted to welcome Peter MacFarlane, a member of the Everton Women Official Supporters Club, as our exclusive Everton Women expert.

Everton Women’s expert Peter MacFarlane feels the Toffees have had a solid start to life under Brian Sorensen in the 42-year-old’s first season with the club.

The Toffees have three wins from their opening five Women’s Super League games and currently sit fourth in the league standings.

MacFarlane is really impressed with the style of play Sorensen has implemented at the club and is excited to see how it progresses during the 2022/23 campaign.

“3 wins in our opening 5 FAWSL games, including 2 away wins represents a solid start to Brian Sorensen’s reign, but the most positive aspect is the way we are playing,” he exclusively told Goodison News.

“Sorensen is implementing a clear playing style which the players have all bought into. It’s still early days so there will be bumps in the road, but once we really kick in and all of the players are totally up to speed, I’m really excited to see how the season progresses.

“It’s certainly a happy camp both on the pitch and in the stands and long may it continue! Up The Toffees.”

Everton host Manchester United in their next fixture in what is shaping up to be a huge fixture for the Toffees with the Red Devils just two places above the Toffees.

There are a number of players in form at the moment with Courtney Brosnan and Megan Finnigan both catching the eye in recent weeks.
