Charly Alcaraz in last chance saloon at Everton with point to prove vs Manchester City
Charly Alcaraz is facing an increasingly uncertain future at Everton.
The Argentine has had far from an ideal campaign since making his move from Flamengo permanent in the summer.
He has struggled for regular minutes under David Moyes and has often found himself playing second fiddle to the likes of James Garner and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
The problem is that the 23-year-old hasn’t taken his opportunity when they’ve come along, with a trip to the Etihad Stadium earlier in the season proving that point.
Everton are set to play host to Manchester City, while Alcaraz has limited opportunities remaining to prove his worth on Merseyside.

Charly Alcaraz was shocking vs Manchester City earlier this season
There was plenty of love aimed towards the attacking midfielder throughout his loan spell at Goodison last campaign.
That hasn’t continued into Hill Dickinson Stadium, with his lack of minutes and goal output raising concerns for many.
| Stat (Premier League 25/26) | Charly Alcaraz |

It isn’t a surprise that his game time has been hampered, especially with someone like Dewsbury-Hall doing so well this campaign.
The Argentine just hasn’t been good enough when the chance has arrived, with his start away to Man City a clear example of that.
He featured across 70 minutes at the Etihad and was unable to take a single shot on target or create a chance for his teammates.

The then 22-year-old also won just 33 per cent of ground duels, something which won’t go down well with Moyes.
Alcaraz could soon be replaced at Everton, so putting in positive performances while he can is of major importance to his career prospects.
Everton may not risk Alcaraz vs Man City
As much as the former Southampton man may want a chance on Merseyside, it may not come against Pep Guardiola’s men.
Considering he came on against West Ham last time around, did nothing but get booked and watch on as Callum Wilson scored the winner, there are going to be obvious concerns about him.
He once again failed to create a chance or take a shot while only contributing one defensive action, which just isn’t good enough.
Translating that to a performance against the Premier League title challengers is hardly going to go well, so Alcaraz’s chances may be increasingly slim.
