The naming rights deal for the Bramley-Moore Dock ground to become the Hill Dickinson Stadium certainly caught Alan Pardew off guard.
Everton fans were initially unimpressed with the sponsorship, but they have become accustomed to the name after an unbeaten five home games to start the campaign.

Liverpool Waters is a £5.5billion project which the Peel Group has put forward as they look to make use of derelict land in the Vauxhall area.
The infrastructure and property investment business shared CGI images on 16 October, which showcase their plans for the docks in and around the Hill Dickinson.
The redevelopment would include huge new residential and commercial spaces across 21m square feet with a view to creating 17,000 full-time jobs.
Everton could prove to be the biggest beneficiaries of this deal, with the Friedkins likely to be licking their lips at the prospect.
Everton in desperate need of Central Docks development
The Hill Dickinson Stadium does pose one of the best fan experiences in the Premier League as an innovative new ground.
Inside the arena is a sight to behold, and in the concourse, the amount of space and vendors is certainly a far cry from Goodison Park.
The stadium is currently being let down by the lack of activity in the surrounding area, with the Bramley Moore Hotel being the only true hotspot on a matchday.
Many supporters are spending their time and money away from the docklands, which isn't truly benefiting the Toffees.
Redevelopment of the Central Docks could prove to be exactly what Everton needs to massively increase their revenue and make their new ground a true hub for activity.
