Everton make Baron Cruddas £300m-plus richer - here's what they'll get out of agreement
Everton have massively helped House of Lords member Baron Cruddas after announcing CMC Markets as their new sponsor.
A large majority of Premier League club has been on the lookout for a new front-of-shirt sponsor this summer.
The ban of gambling sponsors has prompted many sides to hunt for new partners.
Many are struggling to do so, with the likes of Aston Villa and Chelsea yet to land new deals.
The Toffees have beaten many sides to the punch with CMC Markets coming in for the new shirts.
That has benefited Cruddas as shares in his trading company made history after linking up with Everton.
Baron Cruddas bags £334m from Everton agreement
The Blues released their new shirt on Thursday as well as the new signing of Hayden Hackney.
That certainly market an exciting morning for fans on Merseyside, even if the newly released kit is slightly underwhelming.
The typical blue design is accompanied a yellow collar and white sleeve cuffs, but the main feature is the CMC Markets sponsor.
It may not be the most visually appealing, but has certainly benefited the financial services company massively.
This is after Everton confirmed an agreement with CMC on their official website on Wednesday.
The Daily Mail reported via their print edition on Thursday that the founder and CEO of CMC, Baron Cruddas, has grown £334m richer overnight after announcing a sponsorship deal with Everton.
Shares in the trading company were boosted to a record high, rising by 42pc to 650p which saw the value of his stake increase to £1.1bn.
They now expect an operating income of £550m for the year after signing their deal with the Merseyside outfit for branding to appear at Hill Dickinson Stadium, Goodison Park and Finch Farm.
How much will Everton receive from CMC sponsorship?
It's clear to see that this latest agreement has boosted the financial service company and their owner.
The question will be how do Everton seek to benefit from the agreement in the same way they do.
Everton have signed what The Independent have described as a "lucrative" sponsorship deal.
That will reportedly take their shirt sponsor earnings to over £20m, with Stake remaining on the sleeve after previously occupying the front-of-shirt.
The increased revenue has helped to bring Hackney in, who could soon be joined by Tyrique George from Chelsea.
That is immediate evidence of how the new deal is benefiting the Toffees, even if it isn't to the tune of £330m.
