Everton raise £13.8m as Roundhouse Capital make behind-the-scenes move before deadline day
Everton's majority shareholders Roundhouse Capital have provided a fresh injection of capital.
The company, an entity within the Friedkin Group, acquired the Toffees back in December 2024 after striking a deal with Farhad Moshiri.
Since then, Everton have moved into their new Hill Dickinson Stadium home and taken moves off the pitch to recover from the dire situation they previously found themselves in.
Progress on the pitch has perhaps been a little slower than supporters would have liked.
But, off the pitch, moves are being made to safeguard the future of the club after the turmoil that preceded the current regime.
Now, it has been confirmed that a new move was made to provide another boost to the Everton coffers.
What have Roundhouse Capital done at Everton?
There has been a real onus in recent years placed on owners to make sure that clubs are running sustainably.
Everton have certainly been trying to do, announcing a series of commercial and sponsorship deals this summer.
Now, Everton finance expert Paul Quinn - also known as the Esk - has provided news of a new issue of shares made by Roundhouse Capital.
He reported that the new share issue was done on 27 July, with Everton confirming the news on 26 August - less than a week before transfer deadline day.
Quinn noted that the move has raised an additional £13.8million in capital, with 79,000 new shares issued to Roundhouse Capital at £175 a share.
He stated that the latest move brings the total amount of cash injection made by Roundhouse Capital to £386m.
What are Everton doing late in the transfer window?
The news of the continued investment in Everton is a welcome boost, particularly at a time where a bit of good PR is welcome.
The Toffees have had a bit of an underwhelming transfer window, and there was serious concern at news over the weekend that Harrison Armstrong was seemingly going to be sold to Nottingham Forest.
Everton's hierarchy put an end to the deal for the homegrown talent amid fears of supporter backlash.
Iliman Ndiaye is still expected to leave with Tottenham leading the race for the Senegal ace.
But, crucially, David Moyes is getting his wish for incomings with Jack Grealish and Richarlison both set to return to the club.
Moreover, a move for Monaco's United States striker Folarin Balogun is progressing and Everton are hopeful of tying that deal up.
And a new right-back could finally be incoming amid reports Everton have agreed a deal to sign Fulham's Kenny Tete.
