Dan Friedkin's efforts to sell Everton won't be helped by the state of the squad David Moyes is currently having to work with.

The Friedkin Group are currently looking to offload their shares in the Merseyside club after struggling to take the Blues to the next level since their takeover in 2024.

While TFG have stabilised the Blues and Evertonians still have a football club to support, the job the Americans have done since their initial takeover has been underwhelming.

Friedkin hasn't attended a game and the summer transfer window saw a lot of players being sold without being replaced, while efforts were made to sell Harrison Armstrong to Nottingham Forest despite how good a player he is.

Everton's strong start to the season kind of dulled the angst towards TFG, but the underlying issues are still there.

And that could be problematic after a takeover update on Sunday.

The latest Everton takeover news

Alan Nixon reported on Sunday morning that the Dell family are looking to buy into Everton.

US billionaire Michael Dell has previously looked at buying the Toffees and is thought to be considering a move to buy the £1billion-plus rated Premier League club again.

However, should he buy the Blues, there's a major squad rebuilding project that'll need completing pronto, with Match of the Day pundit Steph Houghton showing just how badly Moyes needs more players after their 2-0 loss to Arsenal on Saturday.

"[There is a] lack of an extra striker to support [Thierno] Barry, for Moyes to be able to change the team," said Houghton on MOTD on Saturday.

"It's then hard to go to the Emirates and try to change the game and get back into it.

"They really missed [Jack] Grealish as well; someone has has that ability to get them up the pitch, someone who can drive them forward

"That strength in depth is lacking for Everton."

TFG cause Everton surprise after what was said in private conversations

Who is Michael Dell and what is his net worth?

Dell is a US billionaire and the founder, chairman and CEO of Dell Technologies, one of the world's largest tech companies.

According to Forbes, Dell is worth $237.2bn, which is roughly £177bn.

He is the fifth-richest man in the whole world, meaning that if he buys Everton, he would be the richest outright football club owner in the world.

Only Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Larry Page and Sergey Brin are richer than Dell, as per Forbes' real-time richlist.

By comparison, Friedkin's net worth is just shy of £10bn, meaning that Dell is considerably more wealthy than the current Everton owner.
