Farhad Moshiri has been mentioned as talk about an Everton takeover continues.

It looks set to be yet another period of change for the Toffees.

The Friedkin Group have now confirmed that they are open to selling a controlling stake at Hill Dickinson Stadium.

That comes less than two years after their arrival, but they believe they have done their job to stabilise the L3 outfit.

They are being criticised for looking to flip the Blues for their own financial gain.

The Friedkins aren't going to change their mind and now Moshiri has entered the conversation among fans.

Could Farhad Moshiri return as Everton owner?

There was no lack of coverage as the previous Toffees owner saw everything collapse around him.

His eight-year tenure came to an end in December 2024 as he plunged upwards of £750million into the Goodison club.

Moshiri had made the majority of his money through his business partnership with Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov.

The latter is reported to have paid £400m of his own money to the then-Everton owner before his assets were frozen by the European Union as part of sanctions against Russia in 2022.

An Everton fan on X has now questioned whether the Friedkins have been waiting on those to ware off before departing Merseyside.

They asked, "Was The Friedkin Group put in till Usmanov had his sanctions lifted? Moshiri been the match and The Friedkin Group never went once, makes you think."

That has been met by a simple response from Myers, "That would be a no."

Such a succinct answer will be music to the ears of supporters, but raises further questions of who the next custodians could be.

Who is in the frame to take over at Everton?

If a bizarre return for Moshiri isn't on the cards, then who?

There has been plenty of noise surrounding the sale of the Toffees, but very little concrete information so far.

A report from The i Paper suggests that a "US private equity is the most likely buyer".

There has also been questions surrounding Amanda Staveley and her partners having come close to a purchase in 2023.

They have previously steered clear of getting themselves involved in an auction for the Blues.

An imminent sale to anyone is not on the cards, but the Friedkins suggest they will only sell to the right buyer.

It will make for an interesting few weeks and months for the Toffees, that's for sure.
