Arsenal expose Brennan Johnson and Tyler Dibling truth Everton and David Moyes won't want to hear
Brennan Johnson did almost nothing for Everton against Arsenal on Saturday.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace forward started at the Emirates Stadium, but failed to have much of an impact.
In the Toffees' 2-0 defeat in North London, the Wales international somehow lasted 72 minutes before being replaced.
Tyler Dibling came on for Johnson and the choice between the two has arguably never been easier for David Moyes.
Despite the English youngster's encouraging cameo performances this season, the Scottish manager has been reluctant to rely on him.
The 20-year-old has struggled for regular game time at the Merseyside outfit since completing his big-money move from Southampton, but Moyes can't continue to keep ignoring the issues in the team.
Brennan Johnson and Tyler Dibling numbers compared after Everton loss vs Arsenal
Johnson was dismal against Arsenal and was certainly the worst player on the pitch.
The 25-year-old was barely involved, recording just nine touches in the game and completing just six passes in 72 minutes, as per Sofascore.
Playing on the right-wing, the Welshman recorded a total progression of just 5.1 meters, highlighting his struggles to move the ball forward for the Toffees at the Emirates Stadium.
On the other hand, Dibling played around 18 minutes and had far more influence, recording 24 touches, attempting one dribble and being fouled once.
The English youngster completed 18 passes, one of which was a key pass, and had a total progression of 83.9 meters.
While Moyes might prefer Johnson, it's clearer than ever that Dibling should start ahead of the ex-Palace attacker.
What David Moyes future holds for him amid The Friedkin Group uncertainty
Moyes revealed in his pre-match press conference before Everton lost to Arsenal that he had previously spoken with the club about a new contract, but things had gone quiet.
The Friedkin Group's decision to sell a controlling stake at Hill Dickinson Stadium may be one reason there has been no development on the Scottish manager's future.
While the 63-year-old head coach has ensured the Blues aren't contenders for relegation battles anymore, some fans in L3 aren't really happy about his tactics and style of play.
It remains to be seen whether the Merseyside outfit's potential new owners will look to keep the Scottish manager or move in a different direction by appointing a coach with a more attacking style.
