Ashley Young couldn't speak more highly of Jordan Pickford after Everton's 0-0 draw with Tottenham on Saturday.

David Moyes' men remain unbeaten in the Premier League in what was the first ever goalless league game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

It was by no means a classic performance by the Toffees, but it was one that the squad will head back to Merseyside proud of, especially as Spurs did look the more threatening of the teams.

Pickford has long been a player who's helped nulify those kinds of threats for Everton, and he was at it again on Saturday.

He made two saves throughout the 90 minutes to earn his 100th Premier League clean - the fifth Englishman to achieve such a feat.

Ex-Everton star Young was particularly impressed with that record, and also shared some insight into what the England goalkeeper is like at Finch Farm.

What the Everton squad thinks about Jordan Pickford

After seeing Everton shut Tottenham out for 90 minutes, Young was raving about the defensive displays of Vitalii Mykolenko and James Tarkowski.

He also had a word to say about Pickford, who could remain as England's number one for a very long time despite being 32 years old.

"He's good with his feet, he's good with his hands. There have been so many question marks about Picks, and he always stands up to them," said Young on Sky Sports after the game.

"Again and again, I don't think anybody can see anything about him.

"One hundred clean sheets is phenomenal

Host Dave Jones then asked Young what Everton players think of Pickford, prompting Young to say to much laughter: "That he's crazy.

"He is crazy but everyone knows when he comes into training, he's on it.

"He's hard to beat in training, he wants to do the right things every day, day in and day out.

"That's why he's England's number one and he will be for as long as he wants to be."

Pickford's stats in goals for Everton

Pickford made his 363rd appearance for Everton across all competitions in their 0-0 draw at Spurs.

He's conceded 500 times in those games but also kept 103 clean sheets.

In five games this term, including the Premier League and Carabao Cup, he's kept three clean sheets and conceded just three goals.

Only Hull City's Konstantinos Tzolakis (3) has had more Premier League shut-outs this season, while the Everton star also ranks fourth for goals prevented (1.0).

Against Spurs on Saturday, on top of his two saves, he did make one error that led to a shot but he also made one punch, completed the only run-out he had to make and also one one high claim.
