Everton star Amadou Onana has been praised for his performance for Belgium in their 2-0 friendly win against Montenegro (5 June).

The Red Devils secured a win in their first game in preparation for the European Championships thanks to goals from Kevin De Bruyne and Leandro Trossard.

Toffees star Onana started the clash before being withdrawn by Domenico Tedesco at half-time. He still managed to make a positive impression despite a shortened cameo.

RTBF Actus reported (5 June) that he was "attentive defensively and present in duels" as he showed that element to his game.

The box-to-box midfielder was also praised by WalFoot who rated him at 8.5 while describing him as a "real boss" as well as being "precise, powerful, intelligent and essential."

Onana has been one of Everton's better players since signing from Lille so it is little surprise that he has been linked away this summer.

It is unclear as to whether or not he wants to depart Goodison Park in the transfer window but he has certainly proved himself on the international stage.

Despite being substituted at half-time he managed to make a positive impression which could stand him in good stead ahead of the EUROs this summer.

Although his performance has to be taken with a pinch of salt due to the quality of the opposition, he still showed the best facets of his game.

His passing and dribbling are the key assets to his game and he showed them off in the friendly which left the Belgian media impressed.
