Everton striker Thierno Barry is putting the work in this season.

The 23-year-old is the only natural striker at David Moyes' disposal and shoulders the goalscoring burden.

In the summer of 2025, the Toffees spent around £27million to sign the Frenchman from Villarreal, but he has been inconsistent in front of goal.

Barry has scored five goals in seven matches in all competitions for Everton so far this campaign, but he has been a bit wasteful in recent Premier League games.

One criticism the young centre-forward faced last season was his inability to tuck away more chances.

It looks like the French ace is working overtime to improve his finishing skills, which fans in L3 will certainly love.

What Thierno Barry training footage means for Everton

Barry's profligacy in front of goal for Everton means that they may have to think about reinforcing their attack in January.

AS Monaco ace Folarin Balogun was expected to sign for the Toffees in the summer, but the deal fell through in the final hours of deadline day.

With Beto and Iliman Ndiaye leaving the Blues in the transfer window, pressure has increased on Barry to deliver.

The Frenchman scored in the behind-closed-doors friendly against Blackburn Rovers, which ended in a 3-3 draw.

Online footage has emerged of the striker working with his personal coach recently away from Finch Farm.

Michael Ball loves the desire Barry is showing to improve at the Merseyside outfit, but hopes the club are monitoring his activity to avoid any fitness issues.

Writing in the Liverpool Echo on 6 October, the former Everton defender said, "Online footage has also emerged of him training with his own personal coach.

"The footage just shows that he’s hungry though – hopefully the Everton coaching staff are involved in that and know what he’s up to.

"I hope he's not doing too much, but it shows that he still wants to learn and improve himself.

"As long as he and Everton are in sync over what he is doing away from Finch Farm and you don’t want him to pick up any injuries, I’m all for that."

Why David Moyes could hold the key to Thierno Barry conundrum at Everton

David Moyes has striker experiment up his sleeves

If Barry does pick up an injury at Everton before the winter transfer window, Moyes will have to experiment with his starting lineup.

Brennan Johnson has already featured in the number nine position for the Toffees this season and moving him up front would allow Tyler Dibling to start.

The former Southampton youngster has put in some encouraging performances under Moyes in recent matches.

Charly Alcaraz is another player the Scottish manager has said could provide cover for Barry.

The midfielder has struggled for game time at the Blues this season and may need to reinvent himself to get more minutes.

For now, Barry looks set to be the main number nine for the Merseyside outfit for the foreseeable future.
