David Moyes has some fascinating team selection calls to make when Everton's Premier League campaign resumes.

With the Toffees unbeaten in all competitions so far in 2026-27, Moyes may feel inclined to largely stick with what's been working.

Indeed, he doesn't have much of a reason to change nor the squad depth to particularly do so.

There is improvement still to be found in this group though, and the 63-year-old will be desperate to maximise the team's potential.

As such, some difficult personnel decisions will be made when the Toffees' season starts again on 11 October against Hull City.

Ahead of that, Goodison News picks out one Everton starter who should remain so, one who should be dropped and one fringe player who deserves to come into the XI.

Keep - Harrison Armstrong

It's almost unthinkable now, but Everton really did come mightily close to selling Harrison Armstrong to Nottingham Forest mere weeks ago.

What a sliding doors moment that has turned out to be, as the 19-year-old has been superb in the heart of Moyes' midfield engine room this term.

He's started all five Premier League games so far in 2026-27, largely fending off new summer signing Hayden Hackney in the process.

Both he and James Garner look excellent together in the middle, and Moyes should have no reason to go disrupting that any time soon.

There is one player, however, who it feels as though is primed for a big Hill Dickinson leap if Moyes decides to take the plunge.

Start - Tyler Dibling

Patience was always going to be the name of the game with Tyler Dibling at Everton.

However, the 20-year-old has shown - albeit largely in the Carabao Cup - this season that he's ready to make a big impact on Merseyside.

He was good against Preston and superb in the win over Wolves, grabbing his first Toffees goal contribution against Wanderers in the process.

Everton have scored just six Premier League goals this season, and it already feels as though too much pressure is being placed on Thierno Barry.

Dibling could be a real injection of confidence and electricity to the forward line, and he's certainly worth taking a gamble on in the starting XI if you're Moyes.

Drop - Brennan Johnson

Unfortunately for Brennan Johnson, Dibling coming into the side should mean he loses his place in the lineup.

The 25-year-old hasn't quite shown reliable enough consistency levels as an Everton player so far, fleeting regularly from good to poor performances.

He's appeared in all five of the Toffees' league games this term, but he's yet to register his first goal or assist in the competition in a blue shirt.

The 47-cap Wales international has also come in for criticism during this international break for his performances, particularly against Portugal.

So, unless he starts firing against Norway and Denmark before the break finishes, Moyes should look to take him out of the spotlight at least momentarily.
